hello, i've had my fireface 800 for a few years and i was running it no problems. however, i've been having some bad latency issues recently. i use ableton, i run a hackintosh on a gigabyte ex58 ud5p, 6gb of ram on mac 10.6.8, nvidia 9500gt vid card but i'm using 9800 drivers. i have the most updated drivers, but i didn't do that flash method.

after installing the drivers, my mac recognizes the fireface device as my input/output. i have no issues with choosing it as my soundcard in ableton.

where i run into issues is when i try to play vst's. i notice when i play vst's with multiple voices and the voices stack up my cpu usage jumps to 70-100+%. i understand vst's can be comp intesntive, but before i could open up 8 omnipsheres and run it no problem, now if i play 1 with multiple voices i get these bad lag spikes.

i noticed my system profiler doesn't recognize rme fireface when i click on firewire. does anybody else have issues with this on their mac? i'm thinking this is the problem. what puzzles me is that it started happening all of a sudden.

i also notice that it spikes more easily when my safari is opened, i dont know if its something to do with flash or java.
