Topic: Parallel use of two Firefaces UC

I want to control 10 channels by two linked Firefaces UC. Is it possible to use TotalMix as global mixer and level controller?

The system setup includes a 5.1 system with 3 way active loudspeakers for the the satellites. The XO of satellites is formed by software Acourate.

Re: Parallel use of two Firefaces UC

Yes, it is possible, but you will have a separate windows for each UC and thus separate controls. With 10 channels you can easily connect the second UC via ADAT to the first, though, and thus control all 10 channels (8 analog + 2 ADAT) via a single TotalMix window.

Re: Parallel use of two Firefaces UC

Thanks for your answer. What about the maximum sample frequence:

First Fireface UC unit -->  USB  -->  max. 96kHz

Second Fireface UC unit  -->  ADAT  -->  max. 96kHz or 48kHz?

alternative: Second Fireface UC unit  -->  USB -->  max. 96kHz or 48kHz?

Re: Parallel use of two Firefaces UC

Maximum is 96 kHz in all cases. The number of total channels will be lower at 96 kHz via ADAT, but you will still get your 10 channels (8 analog + 4 ADAT at 96 kHz).

If you run the second UC via USB and analog channels instead of using ADAT you need to sync both units (either via ADAT or Wordclock).
