Topic: FF400 in Win8 x64 RTM problem

Hi there.

I'm playing with Win8 RTM 64bit as it has some accessibility features that appeal to me and I wanted to give it a good test with my studio setup before I decide to purchase it this October.

The latest Win7 x64 drivers install fine, Totalmix and everything seems to work flawlessly except, randomly I get a loud buzz sound almost as if the output buffer is looping a 1ms section of the audio.  I have to then close whatever applications are using the audio.

I've done the following:
1. Disabled system sounds
2. Set the RME outputs 1+2 for Windows sound
3. Set ASIO in my DAW to use outputs 3+4
(so that WDM streaming and ASIO does not clash)
4. I've tried the standard VIA fw driver as well as the OHCI Complient driver.

I seem to recall having this problem in Win7 x64 and installing the legacy FW driver fixed it.

However Win8 does not ship with the legacy FW driver and I can't 'import' it from a Win7 x64 system as the drivers are not signed for Win8.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!
