Topic: About 10.8 and TMFX functions

Hi everyone!

I just installed 10.8.1 (clean install) with Totalmix FX 0.985, and firewire driver 3.12. (FF UFX, firmware 1.51)
Everything  seems to work pretty ok, but I still need to ask a couple of things.
Perhaps someone knows better than me..

1) Faders don't move smoothly when controlling TMFX via mackie control (BCF2000), instead they seem to be jumping in small steps. Tmfx seems to make little noise too as they jump. I thought this might be because of the LcXmu in between, but I also tried a direct connection and the same behaviour continued.

I remember having a similar problem with 10.6.8, and some of the previous drivers, but then it was only for a few days and I don't recall if it was fixed on it's own, or maybe there was an update to fix this??

(I do have a lot of midi action going on, so not impossible that it's only happening on my setup.)

2) Crackling noise with audio from ableton live 8.3.4.

There's some crackling noise (kinda like dust on a vinyl, or cpu overload type of sound) when playing back audio from live. Clock is set to 44.1000, and buffer is around 100 samples. Cpu meter keeps hanging steadily in between 17-21%. I'm using the same ableton template, and exactly the same settings I had on 10.6.8. No problem there.

This is something I have to study more as I had version 8.3.3 on my previous OS. (8.3.4 just came out)

3) How exactly are the fader groups supposed to function?

I haven't needed them too much earlier, and I tried to group one mic input in several submixes, so that the level would follow on each of them when I changed it in one. The levels don't seem to follow too accurately though. Are they supposed to or not? I set the levels all the way down to begin with - to have them accurately synced - but the levels on other submixes seem to drag a little. If I use midi control (at least without feedback) to control the level and the fader jumps to the value corresponding the midi command, the fader sync on other submixes gets totally lost! sad

I've been hoping for a submix mirroring possibility ( like what you can accomplish with permanently activated cue) to unlimited number of (or at least a few more) submixes.
But this might be something not too many people need, besides me that is.

Thanks again for all your help!

Re: About 10.8 and TMFX functions

Sound problems seem to be gone for now. Hopefully will stay that way. Problem with the faders still remain. Everything else in my setup, especially with midi seems to work better than it ever did on 10.6.8. All midi driver issues have vanished. cool So I'll definitely stick with 10.8.1.

..But could someone please help with the fader group issue? That's the most important thing for me to get working! MC, or someone?
Are the linked faders (on other submixes) supposed to follow even on quick jumps when sending a specific level value via midi command?

Or better, do you think you might add the submix mirroring feature? Maybe add a "follow submix" dropdown menu on each output, -where you could select the submix that you want to mirror. But still have the ability to set the output levels independently of course. (and maybe even choose to link the output fader to mirrored submix)
I suppose this could be quite easily added.
