Topic: UCX 30 inputs and outputs?

Surely this is a typo. On page 54 of the manual it states the UCX has "30 input channels, 30 software playback channels, and 30 hardware output channels."

I only count 18. Am I missing something?

12 analog? There are only 8 analog inputs, at least on my UCX. Where are the other 4? Are you counting the combo jacks and HiZ inputs as if they could all be used at the same time? There are 4 jacks but only two inputs per the block diagram.

I've never used ADAT before so I assume the 8 ADAT input channels are stereo? From RME website: "Using an external converter like the ADI-8 QS, the UCX will provide 16 analog inputs and outputs, 12 with a sample rate of 96 kHz, and still 10 at 192 kHz."  That's fantastic! I can't wait to get one of these.

What about the 4 analog inputs mentioned above?

Your quote obviously refers to the FF UFX, though, not the UCX. Page 54 of the current UCX manual correctly mentions 18 I/Os channels. Are you referring to a printed manual? If so, it may be a copy/paste error in an older version.

Yes, it's the printed manual that came with my UCX. I'll download the latest.
