Topic: Can't get FF800 to connect via firewire 800, works with firewire 400

I've always used firewire 400 with my FF800.  I recently tried to connect it via firewire 800 using this PCIe card:

Syba Low Profile PCI-Express 1394b/1394a (2B1A) Card, TI Chipset, Extra Regular Bracket SD-PEX30009

It works with FW400, but the system doesn't detect it trying the FW800 ports.  It has the TI chipset, supposedly.

I'd really like to verify that the FW800 is working, at least, but I don't have any other devices to use.

Any suggestions?

I'm using 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium.  I've tried the default OCHI drivers, and for fun, tried the Legacy ones, but it didn't make a difference.

Maybe try another Firewire cable?

Yeah, I've ordered another one, just in case.  But the one I was using seemed to work with the other FW800 device I have.

I tried my FF800 on a friend's Mac, and it appears as though one of my FW800 ports is dead.  I'm guessing it was dead from Day One, since I never used it until now.  Kinda sucks, because I'll likely take a big ding on the resale value.

Anyone want to buy a FF800 for $800?  smile  It's in GREAT shape, other than the one port.  Seriously.  Flawless, with original packaging.

Yea, I would buy it. Just need to sort out if I can run two at a time with Windows 7 (as described in my post linked above). I have a local friend with a FF800 that I can borrow to test the configuration out. If it works I would certainly purchase your FF800. Will send you a msg.
