Topic: Audio format

Good afternoon;
I'm thinking about getting a FireFace 800 to record speech signals. As I need to get signals that can be deployed in acoustic analysis programs, like WaveSurfer or PRAAT, I wonder if the format produced by FireFace 800 is .WAV.
Thank you very much.

Re: Audio format

WAV is just a container format. The audio inside is usually PCM uncompressed in various formats, but can be also compressed audio. Anyhow the Fireface delivers digital audio data, which you can record it in any audio recording program. Just set your  program to the format you need (44.1 kHz or 96 kHz ..., 16 or 24 Bit) and export/save it later in the WAV format.

Re: Audio format

Or in other words: not the Fireface 800 but the software that you use for recording turns the FF data into a wav file.
