Topic: FF800 with HDSP AES-32

Any issues in using the FF800 and a HDSP AES-32 in the same computer? I know they have to be synchronized, but any issue with the using the Firewire and PCI interfaces together?

Anybody?

Would one of the USB products be preferable used with the HDSP AES-32? I want to increase my I/O options but don't have any more PCI or PCIe slots available.

On Windows, you can only use one ASIO driver at a time, this means you can't mix and match RME series. You could use 2 FireWire devices together, or 2 HDSP cards, but not one of each.

This is true, but it's not the complete picture.

I'm using a UFX and a HDSP9652 in one Windows based computer and it works very nice. You cannot use more than one asio driver at the same time, but I use the HDSP with all it's inputs (16 analog and 8 digital) as a pre-mixer / patchbay and use two of the ADAT outs to route these channels into my UFX.

So the HDSP does not use it's asio driver, which prevents me to use it's channels in an audio application, but totalmix is working never the less. I haven't come across any weirdness with changing samplerates or anything. It works flawless!
