Topic: Fireface UC latency issues

Re: Fireface UC latency issues

I recently joined the RME product family with this piece of interface. But instead of having fun times of mixing and recording in low latency, I have even more samples to cope with. Before, I had 6ms with an M-Audio box, now I have 11ms and cracks and bitcrushing noises. Asio shows high level and it is hard to work. I've read that article about similar problems with the babyface http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=14692

I hope this USB Inf driver update on ICH10 familiy helps, which I will try now. Also as noted in the post above, I will exit and close RME apps during recording.

Do you have any hints (please save me things like "latest driver, PC optimization and sorts of..)

Thx!

11ms? What is the buffer size set to? Do you use the RME driver (ASIO Fireface USB) in your app?

thanks,jeff.

the buffer size ranges from 512 up to 1024. 512 works with less plugins, 1024 eats not that much.
of course I use only RME drivers.

again,it can't be my system. m-audio profire has sometimes troubles with firewire, but works fine with 6ms at 256 buffer size.
I installed new intel usb drivers-and did not get lucky.

any hints?

Re: Fireface UC latency issues

With RME you schould be able to put the buffer to 48 samples with a latency around 2.4 ms if not, you realy need to uninstal all audio drivers and reinstall them. What version of cubase are you using? I had problems using cubase 5 with RME driver. I'm on 6.5 now, no problems.
