Topic: master volume
Is there any way of setting a master volume control on this card, I have a number of outputs whose volume I would like to control together.

Which card are you referring to...?

you really need separate forums for each card..
Fireface UC.
Thanks

Not at all... You just need to mention the device in your initial post... fryingpan
Fireface UC.
What exactly does "setting a master volume control" refer to, would you like to control several TM faders together (these can be grouped) or are you looking at an external device?

grouping ideally, i'd then like to control this grouping through midi so I can control the overall volume from one fader on my controller keyboard.
having separate forums would enable people to quickly find issues relating to their specific card, it makes more sense that having everything lumped together.

Both functionalities are explained in the manual in detail...

Not at all - esp. since potential issues of the USB or FW driver may affect several devices. It would be misleading to have these discussed only in a UC forum, when they'd also be of concern to UFX/UCX owners.
Also, this forum does have a search function.
And the questions at hand here are in no way product-specific, by the way.

I can certainly agree there will always be some crossover, however reading through an issue on one card isn't necessary going to help you on another. It would be more sensible to have sub genres within the forum and so your search could either encompass all cards or not if you just wanted to research one. Lots of people come to forums these days to research before buying, you would simply be making these easier for potential owners. I certainly dug into the forums before buying and it took a lot longer than it needed to, it was a little off putting.
You are entitled to your opinion here, but I can assure you this won't happen, also because neither us admins/mods nor users who wish to help others will have any inclination to keep browsing through several subfora. In fact, we have only recently joined the previously separate Firewire and USB fora, since there are devices with both interfaces.
Also, I simply do not agree with your views on the usefulness of separate fora. To avoid a lengthy discussion, I will now close the thread, hope you won't mind. Feel free to mail, if you wish to discuss this further, but the chances of an actual change are, err, rather small... :-)
