Greetings all..

This is my first post here and I'll be honest, I'm completely stuck, I'm also completely new to audio recording, so please excuse the naivety of my question, any help is greatly appreciated.

I have set up my new RME Fireface 800, I connected to my mac book pro using a firewire 800 cable (firewire 800 on the interface, firewire 800 on the Mac, could this be the problem??) the drivers installed fine, I can get a response in the unit by changing settings in the Fireface settings tool so something is working right.

I have listed the Fireface (I think) as the main output device in Mac OS X audio MIDI setup preferences. I have connected a set of cheap monitors (temporarily) to output 1 at the rear of the Fireface, but I can't get any monitoring output from my Mac, at this point I want to be able to listen to music via my iTunes library, but there is nothing there.

Does this make sense? If any can help with some advice that would be great :-)
