Topic: TotalMix doesn't remember pref after reboot!

Thats it, like the tittle says.

After i turn on my computer again (Windows 7 with lastest driver and fw), when i switch on my already pluged Fireface UC (its always connected, but i turn it on/off from the back switch), TotalMix window opens as usual, but for example controls in Out AN 1/2 channel are completly random, fader value appears in any value it wants and also pan is completly random aswell.

This never happened before with other driver versions!

This is not a really major problem, but other day (im usually work with the last sessions settings) when i turn everything on and play the first sound, i found that all values where at maximum volume ! (yes my mistake for not to check TotalMix settings, but they always keept the same in the past) and a few people got scared by the volume hehe...of course i didn't let them at maximum the day before.

Just to inform about this issue and to know if anybody else haves it...

In OSX with lastest driver everything goes great, it seems to be a PC only issue...

I have the same problem , like you describe above , with Win 7 x64 FF UC with lastest driver .... more - to me I see the Mic Gain goes to 100 too ...

We can not reproduce this error. If you run into this situation please check if you can click the undo button and all settings revert to normal then.

yes me neither, is a bit random...for example yesterday it didn't do it, but now im away from my studio due to a bussines tryp for a few days. i will come back during the next week and i will reboot and turn on/off my UC until i can reproduce it and check the undo option.

I have the same problem with my FF800 in Win7 64bit since I updated my driver to 3.069.

The "Fireface Settings" window doesn't remember last settings. The "Store in Flash" and "Read Flash" work as expected and I set everything up, but when I restart the computer, the settings are at default again. If I "Read Flash", the correct values load. The Mixer works OK - remembers last settings.

I know this works on the earlier driver, so I tried rolling back to 3.068, the same problem. Then I rolled back to 3.047 and everything works again. I didn't test all the in-between versions, to see when this bug was introduced.

My machine is clean-installed, so it's surely not a Windows issue.

Please solve this, since I use the -10db output, and with default +4db it's very dangerous if I forget to "Read Flash" after every restart.

You do not have the same problem. What you see happens when the option 'Lock registry' on the About tab has been activated. Please check that, and if not active simply toggle it.

today it happened again ...
I saw how it happened - after turn on (start up) my PC and when it was in blue screen I turned on FF UC , it starts normal as it was in last ( -30) , then after PC goes in normal screen FF UC jamp to 00 ... couldn't do UNDO ...

Thanks, that sounds interesting. I wonder if the TM Mix files loaded are corrupted. You could save the current states, then perform a Total Reset, and additionally delete the current mix default file. It is called rme.totalmix.default.xml and found in the directory user\username\App Data\Local\TotalMix.

Thank you for your "lock registry" suggestion - although I did a clean install and there was no checkmark in the box, I clicked it a few times to enable and again disable it - now the settings are retained as I restart the machine.

sad doesn't work ...
today this happend again .... after boot total volume gone to "oo" and I couldn't do anything !!!
it worked after turn off Groups Fader ...

That means you had fader groups defined in all situations where this happened? Can you send me the workspace?

i tried to reproduce the error again, but without any success...as i said in first instance is also a bit random...

unlike alek i don't have groups defined, i have almost the factory configuration for TM.

well again, this a completly random bug. i started today my computer, then after windows starts i turn on my UC and again TotalMix with Pan/volume scrambled values at my main out (ANLG 1/2).

right in the moment i saw this without changin any value, i saved my workspace plus the folder "\username\App Data\Local\TotalMix" in .rar file and uploaded here:

maybe this helps to see what happened of something.
