Topic: Line6 POD HD500 Coax SPDIF out into Babyface optical SPDIF input

Hey guys,

I'm planning to get a Babyface as my soundcard for a series of applications and would like to know if it's possible to do something with the Line6 POD HD500.

Basically the POD HD500 has Coax SPDIF out that can send the DI guitar connected to the POD while the Line out of the POD sends the processed POD sound. I would therefore need an optical / coax SPDIF converter. Do you reckon something like this would work ? http://www.thomann.de/nl/m-audio_co2_op … verter.htm

Would it then be possible to record both the Left and Right Line Signal from the POD AND the Optical signal all at the same time ? (i.e. 3 input channels)

Sorry if I'm mixing up different things here but I'm kinda new to all this... HeadScratch

Thanks a lot for any hints!

Sure it works. Btw, SPDIF out is a stereo channel, so total input is 4 channels (L/R analog ins, and SPDIF L/R).
Often times, sample rate of SPDIF is fixed in the output device (like POD), so you need to find what is the sample rate in the manual, and then change the syncing rate on Babyface side. I have CO3, and it works just like that with my Axe Fx.
