Topic: Babyface - jumping up of volume out - problem

I was in the first wave of Babyface owners, and I love that little device - silver edition.
One problem I've encountered, and I wanted to find out if this common or just an issue with mine. On using the dial to turn the main volume down, often  the LEDs will show that the unit is "fighting" with this change, and will often increase in volume instead, sometimes just jumping to max. This has caused quite a shock sometimes, and one time I worried that I had damaged my monitors - thankfully not.
Anyway, has anyone else had this issue or is my unit defective?

May be my experiences will come in use. I have a Fireface UCX - wonderful device!
I had the same problems with a volume jumping and usually to MAX level.
I even thought to give it back. But solution has come suddenly.
The reason was a MIDI keyboard connected to my Fireface. Some of MIDI signals
coming from keyboard takes as a control signals for Fireface.
So if you have anything connected to your card via MIDI and this one is not dedicated
for sound card controlling try to uncheck Enable MIDI Control in Option menu.
