Topic: HDSP 9632 : Sub 15 Pol Extension

Hi,
I bought a HDSP 9632 and the symmetrical XLR breakout cable... my DAW is in another room and speaker cables are a little too thick for the door...  better would be one extension cable for the breakout cable... HDSP 9532 - sub15 extension - breakout cable...

can I use a Sub15 Extension Cable without any disadvantages?

like this:
http://www.amazon.de/InLine-S-VGA-PREMI … m_sbs_ce_4
or
http://www.amazon.de/Wentronic-Monitork … l+15+polig

both would do fine?

thanks for helping out!

It works - not. Standard D-sub cable do not have shieldings for the internal wires, and those VGA cables have but on wrong combinations of the wires. There is some crosstalk and problems to be expected.

Dear Matthias,
is there another solution? What extension works?
Thanks,

I am not aware of any solution than soldering it yourself.

Re: HDSP 9632 : Sub 15 Pol Extension

Please give me a hint, which cables and components I need.
I'm a RME user for 6 years and I finally need some help! Thank you very much.

Won't work. You need thin balanced multicore cable and solder it according to the pin layout found in the card's manual.
