Did you find an solution? It went away weird enough. But now I updated to Sonoma and it's back again. I have the same problem.

I have exactly the same problem as you!

TotalMix is causing an interference in Graphics capability with Logic.

I made a video of the problem here. Like you I'm also on Monterey.

If you close TotalMix, Logic renders the red recording bar correctly but instantly breaks as soon as you open TotalMix so it proves there is some conflict there.

Would love to see a solution from RME.

In my opinion it’s hard to see the issue related to the audio hardware. The recording itself is ok, right? Only the direct drawing of the new region with the waveform while recording doesn’t work. So it’s more a graphical thing, no? But yes, of course it’s strange to have the issue always and only with the same audio interface.
Is the Fireface 802 slaved to another digital device or word clock? In my experience Logic works smoother in combination with an interface which is set as master clock. But the issues I had were more when creating a new project - the moment when I had to choose the sample rate and new tracks. Anyway it’s worth to check maybe?

The Fireface Settings from both interfaces to look for a difference.
The issue is only with the 802, right ? May be Totalmix total reset on both ?
btw I am on Ventura and I found out Apple did some improvements in the audio system from Monterey to Ventura.
I couldn't find any text about it but it's better now.
You did a test with the USB cable from the Babyface.

So I got the newest logic, newest Monterey too.
I use it with a usb!

802: Firmwire v13
driver v3.28

Babyface firmare: v125
driver: v3.28

And to my knowlegde, the settings are idententical!

Of what settings do you need a screenshot?

Is Logic up to date 10.7.6 ?
Do you use the 802 via USB ?
What is the firmware verion ?
what is the driver version ?

I use Logic with different interfaces and never has this issue, the red bar always appears.
What difference in settings in the preferences between the 802 and the Babyface is present in your setup ?
Can you check both and make screenshots of the settings ?
Would be interesting if I can reproduce this issue...

Everytime I start a new project, it's always an issue with the 802!

It started when I updated to Monterey!

Was this project created with Babyface connected ?
Please create a new project while 802 is connected, is the issue still happens then ?

Hey Guys,

So I got this weird problem with the RME 802, that when I record audio file, the red doesnt load by itself. Only when I move the mouse and click at the same time. I don't have this problem if my RME 802 is not connected. Even with my Baby Face Pro FS is loads instantly and I can see the waveform unfolding.

I have the newest Totalmix Fx.

How can I fix this?
