Topic: RME fireface 400 question about acoustics lab use (headphone output)

I have had my FF400 for about 3 years and it has performed flawlessly.

I have a question though...I use it in a transducer design lab and I need to do some complex impedance analysis
of an ultrasonic microphone design.

Could you please tell me what the current capability of the headphone outs (7 and 8) are?
I know output impedance is about 30 ohms.

Is it short circuit protected?

I'm measuring devices that appear as a few hundred to a thousand pF at most frequencies except resonance, where motional
impedance makes it about 100 ohms resistive. I want to measure at just a few volts excitation.

If you could tell me the op amp used I could hunt it up myself. Just wondering if I need a buffer.

Thanks,

Les

4580, should be no problem.

Thanks, Matthias.

The FF400 has been an excellent piece of lab gear. We use it in the production mic response
testing station as well.
