Topic: Multiface2 - polarity of dc power supply

I am no electronics expert so bear with me:

I lost the powersupply which was originally included with the multiface2 for operation with the cardbus card. I have a spare power supply (from an external hard disk drive) which should deliver enough power (12v / 2 ampere) and the plug fits perfectly. What is unclear to me is if the Multiface2 expects a certain polarity of dc voltage (no info printed on the interface). I did not find any clues about this in the manual. As the multiface even handles ac I assume the polarity does not matter, right? Or will a wrong polarity destroy the electronics?

Either polarity will work - even AC...

I have a similar query about my Multiface II which I sometimes use as a DAC for an optical connection, but I don't need always want my PC on.

I have a power supply almost identical to the linked item (same model number):

INPUT:  100-240V~ 1.5A 50/60Hz
OUTPUT:  12V === 5.0A 

The plug fits into the power supply, and I assume it will work. But I would like to check this is compatible before turning it on!
