Topic: RME HDSPe AIO hearing digital interfearences/noises when monitoring

Hi,

i just purchased and installed the HDSPe AIO, i am using a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD5 motherboard and windows 7.

When monitoring through the RME AIO headphone output or through any output i can hear digital interfearances/noises from when my internet connects or when the harddrive is accessed. This is really disturbing because i dont have a clean audiosignal. I dont have a second pcie connection to try out, well actualy i have but gigabyte was stupid enough to place a heatsink next to it preventing you to use the pcie. So is there any solution to this, aren't there any filters build in the RME to prevent this?

I hope someone can help, otherwise i might sell the AIO already and i don't want to.

In the motherboard bios, disable all powersaving for the cpu (C1E enhanced C2 speedstep etc). And I mean all cool .

Do you hear noise when you connect only (!) headphones to the card?

well i dont see does C1E Enhanced C2 Speedstep in my BIOS i only have a power management page with
ACPI suspend type set to S3 (STR)
Soft Off by PWR BTTN set to Instant off
PME event wake up set to disabled
Power on by ring set to disabled (that one was enabled)
Resume by alarm set to disabled
HPET support set to enabled
HPET mode set to 64 bit
power on by mouse set to disabled
power on by keyboard set to disabled
ac back function set to soft off
Erp support set to disabled

any other clues maybe?

wait a minute i think its not in the bios but through a special program deliverd with the board, im going to check that one

I took a look at the manual. It´s in motherboard intelligent tweaker (MIT)menu
advanced cpu features. Change C1E to diabled C3etc to disabled CPU EIST disabled and virtualization disabled. And maybe turbo boost also disabled. Leave multi threading enabled.

If you already installed the program uninstall it right away it´s a 100% certain crackle causer

It is a known issue, not limited to RME, but gigabyte seems most affected motherboard wise.
