Topic: FireFace UFX on firewire stops working when usb device is plugged in

Hi,

We encountered a strange problem on Windows 7 professional 64-bits. A Fireface UFX was connected to the machine via Firewire and working just fine. Then a breakout box for video capturing was connected to USB and the Fireface 'disappeared' from Windows. Reconnecting via USB let us reinstall the drivers (first it says drivers couldn't be found, so uninstall was required), but Totalmix and the settings applications still do not appear in the system tray, even after rebooting. They are sitting in \windows\system32 though and when started from there do not work either.

We are trying a system restore right now but this is strange and unwanted behaviour. Any tips as to how we can fix this when it happens again?

Short update: the system restore was succesful, the UFX is working again. Nevertheless I would be very happy if people can tell me why Windows screws up and how it's fixable without having to do a system restore. We want to be able to use the video capture device alongside the UFX.
