Topic: HDSPe 9632 & Windows XP

Hi There

I am a reseller who sold one of these cards to a customer of mine, to use on a workstation running Windows XP.  He has no problem installing the card without drivers.  But as soon as he installs the drivers, the computer crashes with a blue screen of death and restarts (in a loop).  The motherboard he is using is a Supermicro X8DAi .  He used to use a competitor product (Echo) on the same motherboard with the same Windows XP operating system with no issues what so ever.  However, our Australian distributor of Echo and RME suggested we try the RME which he said was a better card.  We did and now we are left with an egg on our face, so to speak.  In fact the distributor is arguing that the motherboard may be faulty but we know this is not true.

Can someone please help ?

Thanking all in advance.

Re: HDSPe 9632 & Windows XP

He may have installed the driver incorrectly, i.e. in a forced manual way without prior hardware detection. This causes BSODs. The automatic reboot can be deactivated.

Which driver has he installed, and how? Has he tried another PCI slot?
