Topic: how to remove DC filter

Hi guys

I work for a laboratory of acoustics and we are using the Fireface 400 for some measurements. In some cases, we need to measure the DC component as well, but the Fireface 400 filters it. Does anybody know how to remove this filter (is there a service manual or an electrical schema available) ?

Thank you all

Re: how to remove DC filter

Audio devices in general use converters that need a fixed DC bias (2.5 V) and are therefore not able to record DC signals. Additionally they usually have a fixed DC filter within the AD-chip that also prevents you from doing that.

Thank you very much for the fast response. Is there any other solution (another type of card or others from RME) ... to be able to measure the audio signal with high precision (196kHz, 24bit) including the DC component ?

The card we are using now (RME Fireface 400) is really perfect for our purposes, except the filtering of the DC component.

Thank you

Sorry, no. Not sure whether there are ADC units on the market with DC support.

Sure there are. Industrial data acquisition, using different ADCs. But these are not for audio purposes.
