Topic: HDSP 9632 HD15 connector

Hi,

I'm planning to make own HD15 VGA connector cable to 9632. I'd need only to have balanced line outs and midi in, so it would be waste of money to buy the RME balanced cable for me.

Well, I figured out that pins 7 and 8 are unused in the unbalanced cable, so I'm assuming I'll have to use those pins to make the line outs balanced. Would that be that simple?

Also I found out that midi connections didn't have ground attached to them. Just wondering that would it be wise thing to have the midi input connected to the ground aswell.

At least at the instrument side midi was always ungrounded. They even used an opto isolator for it.

Thanks vinark,

hmmm, maybe it's not ground then, but I've used to make midi cables with 3 connections. In the breakout cable MIDI connections had only 2 pins connected. The one in the middle of the DIN connector was untaken.

Lighten me up!
