from manual "the optical signal in total mix has to be present on the first adat channels, AS 1+2."

no signal is indicated on the meters on these channels.  source signal is internet media player which works fine through monitor speakers.  Trying to send signal to optical in on home stereo.

I'm missing something.  How do I get the player to register on these meters?  The settings are set to optical spdif, the cable is coming from the out, etc.

okay, I'm now getting sound out of my stereo -- sounds very good.  I went to sounds in control panel and selected different pairs for playback and recording -- not something I'm used to but all hunky dory for now.
