Topic: Baby Face Advice

Hello, I am about to purchase the babyface and wanted to ask a few questions.

I have owned several RME products in the past and have been very happy.

1) I have a smoking new MacBook Pro can I expect low latencies like 1.5 or 3.0 ms?
2) I see that it has echo and reverb, can I do zero latency monitoring add reverb just for monitoring and still record dry?
3) Is the babyface working well on Cubase 6?
4) ASIO support I assume.

I think that's all the questions for now.

Thanks

No one has any comments to share with this?

Re: Baby Face Advice

1) You'll have to try for yourself. Depends on what you are doing.
2) Yes, this is the intention of the FX
3)  ...
4) On Windows, yes. On Mac OS there is no ASIO.

The echo and reverb of the Babyface are not exactly zero latency. Both effects were calculated with the CPU of the host. But for those effects it doesn´t matter and the latency of the Babyface is already very low.
All inputs go directly to the software without any effects. But it is possible to record the EQ of the input channel with a driver option or all other effects with the so called Loopback feature in the outputs.
