Topic: OSX FF USB settings dialog when using external word clock

Hi.  Fireface UC owner here.  Looking at the Fireface USB Settings dialog box on OSX.

If I have an external word clock connected to the word clock input, Word Clock selected from the Clock Source drop down in the Clock Mode section, and the Input Status section of the window shows "Word    Sync  96khz", why is the Sample Rate drop down in the Clock Mode section still selectable?  If I am using an external clock, and it is sync'd, shouldn't the external clock dictate the Sample Rate?

Thank you

Re: OSX FF USB settings dialog when using external word clock

When the external sync signal gets lost or you change the source setting back to internal then the UC still needs to know which internal sample-rate to fall back to. So having it greyed out would mean you would *first* have to turn off external sync (or lose it) and could only *then* change the sample-rate.

As long as the Status reports that you are running on external sync (and everything sounds right) there should be no need to worry.
