Topic: Can I use my Phantom Powered DI Box with the Fireface UC?

I have a Radial J48 that needs to be powered by the 48 volt Phantom Powered XLR mic input.
However I can't seem to work out how to make this work. This is worrying me as it is an important part of my guitar sound an that the Fireface UC does not have a Hi Z input. Or does it.
I am sorry but I have just gone 64bit and the learning curve is horrendous and boy does my head hurt.

Connect DI to mic1 input and phantom power on?

Or guitar directly to input 3 or 4 (are HiZwhen set to instrument), might sound different to your radial or not, just try.

Re: Can I use my Phantom Powered DI Box with the Fireface UC?

Do you have to turn the power on?
Because I have connected it, but the Radial does not work -no phantom power.
It probably is my fault - I hope!
I get no signal through input 1 with the Radial connected.
Is Phantom Power on all the time?
Or does it come when it sense the input?
Do you have to switch it on through the software?

Phantom power needs to be switched in software (depedeing on driver version, either in the settings or in the mixer).

Ah, thank you very much.
I have been reading the manual and have seen the illustration on page 37.
I have yet to find where to access that particular window.
However I will work on that this afternoon.
I am pleased to be part of the community.

However!
Just looked and cannot find the screen that deals with the inputs = Phantom power.
Looked through all the menus in the mixer.

Just found the Phantom Power.
The spanner is the Key!
Clever, but not in the manual.
