Topic: Using the babyface to record 2 guitars??

Hi there,

I'm a new owner of the babyface and wondering if I can record x2 guitars at the same time.  The reason I'm asking is that obviously recording via the hi z input is sweet but if I connect a balanced xlr to jack into the first xlr input I get a alot of "noise" and very little guitar signal.

The cable is a balanced xlr to jack which i'm pluggin straight into a guitar (i've tried my acoustic and electric and still get the same noise)

The cable has worked fine when I previously used it to connect my old audio interface (mbox2) to my monitors so I know it is not faulty.

Do I need to get a xlr to jack socket adaptor or will I need to get a D.I box?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks all!

The other input is a low impedance type input and therefore not suitable for guitars. A DI box with active hi-impedance input would make it work. Any of your foot pedals in between too.
