Topic: Turning on FF800 causes laptop to crash (Vista)

I've been trying to get my Fireface 800 working with my laptop running Vista so I could do some remote recording. Sadly, I can't seem to get the damn thing working.

I've tried both of the drivers currently available, and the firmware is up to date. I've also tried unistalling and disabling the internal audiochip. Pretty much the instant the host error light turns off, after turning on the Fireface, the laptop crashes (about 8 times outta 10). When it doesn't crash, it won't play audio correctly, it just puts out loud, feedbacky, glitchy noise through the headphones out, which doesn't stop after I stop the playback.

The laptop is not exactly hi-spec (AMD Sempron 2GHz, 2 Gigs of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3200, and  FW400 Expresscard with a TI chipset, Vista Home Basic SP 2), but it should be enough for simple recording.

The Fireface has been working pretty much flawlessly on my tabletop computer running Windows 7, so I know it's not the Fireface.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I'm getting pretty frustrated here.

Thanks.
