Topic: Software on Dell laptop and FF 400 fail to communicate (red LED ON)

Hi,

Facts:
My FireFace 400 is connected to a Dell Lattitude E 4300 laptop via the supplied FireWire cable and a 6-4 pin FireWire adapter.

The OS is Windows XP (updated).

All firmware (drivers) on the Laptop are up to date.

The FF drivers are:
- Windows driver: ver 3.034
- Firmware: rev 1.70 (updated via other PC).

Problem:
No contact between the application software and FF 400 (red Host LED is on all the time) despite the fact that Windows Device manager "informs me" that the device is working correctly (when connected and turned on so there is some level of communication that works).

Most grateful for advice.
