Topic: need extra midi input

i have a fractal fx that uses midi for settings and an ekit to record midi for drum triggers. the fractal needs both midi in and out as it writes to both the fractal and hard drive. the e-kit only needs to send midi to my daw. my fireface 800 is my only midi interface with my machine.

is there a simple and reliable solution to add another midi port (maybe even 2 or 3)? midi is not my strong suit so cheap is best.

There are plenty of USB MIDI interfaces that will work perfectly well alongside the FF800.  I use an Edirol UM3X.

Hi,
Yes the Cakewalk/Edirol UM series or the MOTU Fastlane work great with RME stuff.

thx, i was looking at the UM series. m-audio's midisport was also a rec (another forum) but i've now read enough about there driver support to get scared.
