Topic: FW 400 Crackling noise during recording

I purchased the FW 400 new from store and replaced my old Saffire LE on my Mac Pro G5. During some recording sessions a strange crackling nose appears during recording. This seem to happen quite spontaneous.  I can't find what causes this prolem

What kind of Mac is this exactly? Which driver have you installed?

Hi. Thanks for quick reply. It's a PowerPC G5 Dual with OS 10.4. I installed the latest driver for the PowerPC
