Topic: RME Multiface II :: spdif + internal loop (to use a spectrum analyzer)

hello,

I'm using a audio spectrum analyzer... and til now I used it on another machine and connected my two daws via spdif...
but i'm thinking: can I setup a internal loop, so my spdif out goes into the spdif in of one and the same multiface II??
what do I have to do without ruining my speakers and most importantly my ears??! wink)

thanks and best wishes,
michael

Re: RME Multiface II :: spdif + internal loop (to use a spectrum analyzer)

Totalmix's "Loopback" function should do the trick w/o using any cables.  Check the manual for specifics...

cool

MADIface-XT+ARC / 3x HDSP MADI / ADI648
2x SSL Alphalink MADI AX
2x Multiface / 2x Digiface /2x ADI8

Also have you checked out digicheck? It has a built in spectrum analyser and a bunch of other useful features. Check on RME main website.

for one: http://www.rme-audio.de/forum/viewtopic.php?id=10678

or in your manual read the section "recording a subgroup (loopback)"
