Topic: huge ASIO delay after s/r rate or input/output changes in host app

I frequently encounter a serious issue where either no sound is being played back or a hefty delay (100 ms or more) is being introduced into some or all channels of output. I have the impression that this has been introduced with driver version 3.24.

The issue is being triggered by 2 tings:

- changing sample rate in the host application (Cubase). This can involuntarily happen when I unload a regular 44.1 kHz project - then Cubase switches to 33 kHz or something like this - and then load another 44.1 kHz project

- changing the track setup in the host application (Cubase): When a change input or output channel assignments

The issue is not triggered every time I do these things but often.

Sometimes, the issue is actually present right after Cubase starting and loading my default project without me doing anything else.

The issue mostly goes away when I open the rme control panel and change buffer size from 64 to 128 and back to 64. Sometimes, however, this does not help.

Then when I restart Windows 7 it is fine. Closing and opening the host application doe snot help.

My system specs:
- Dell Precision PC with 2 Xeon 6 core cpus
- Windows 7 64 bit
- Cbase 6.0.2 64 bit
- 3 x HSDPe with 3 Multiface II

rme settings:
-    64 sample buffer size
-    Word clock sync
-    “optimize multi-client mixing” is switched off
-    “lock registry” is switched off

all latest software versions, HSDPe firmware revision 18

I would love to get this issue fixed. It has embarrassed me and my company multiply times during live event recordings.

Best regards, Mikael
