Topic: Better Performance Firewire800

hi,

we have been thinking if we can mount our performance installing a firewire800 card such as the DeLock IEEE 1394b for using firewire800 instead of firewire400 as at the moment.

has somebody experience, if this would really speedup our fireface800 for better latency and less cpu load?

as the card offers 2 firewire800 connections and the fireface800 has also 2 firewire connections,
does it make sense to connect these with 2 cabels?

thanks for assistance

Re: Better Performance Firewire800

FW800 will not reduce latency, and it is pointless to use to cables.

Re: Better Performance Firewire800

thanks for responding.
what improving would FW800 have then?

Re: Better Performance Firewire800

If you wish to connect two FF800, you will need FW800.
