Topic: Fireface word clock - clock cannot "wait"
Hi,
I may not have a typical audio problem, as I use the RME fireface 800 for recording of biological signals. I have to synchronize the application with other sensors, among these is a video camera.
The clock synchronization module would not work, as we use more than 30fps (100fps high speed camera).
The easiest way to do synchronize ALL sensors would be to feed a 192kHz clock into the world-clock, which would start synchronously with the other measurements. The recording application would simply wait until the first samples arrive.
Unfortunately, the in-built PLL seems to switch automatically to an internal clock if there is no clock present on the world clock input for a short period of time.
Is there a possiblity to switch this synchronization feasture off?
The very difficult alternative would be to use the ASIO interface in LabVIEW, but the fireface_asio.dll and their prototypes is basically not documentated at all...
I would be very greatful if you could help me engineering a way around this problems, even if it means modifying the hardware...¨
Best regards,
Clemens
