Topic: Multiface/Lattitude e6420 compatibility

I have a Multiface with a PCMCIA card.

I have recently purchased a new Dell Lattitude e6420 with a quad-core i7 2720qm processor, 4 gig of RAM and an NVS 4200m video card.

It has a pcie slot.  I've tried an adaptor for the Cardbus (which requires no driver, and is claimed to work with all cards) and I'm getting hard freezes in 5-15 seconds, but a tantalizing tidbit of sound before that.... I've tried under windows 7 64-bit and XP SP3 32-bit with the same results.  Tried both 3.24 and 3.83 (if I have those numbers right) drivers.

Having read here about motherboard conflicts, etc, I thought I'd see if anybody had a multiface/PCIe running with this computer, or at least this chipset, before spending $$ for a PCIe card.

Alternately, if anyone has managed to make the Cardbus work through a PCIe adaptor, I'd like to hear about it..... it seems so close!!!

thanks,

Re: Multiface/Lattitude e6420 compatibility

No official support for adapters like this, sorry. Might work, might not. Try another slot, try another adapter, but the best solution will be the RME PCIe card.

3.24 is up to date, 3.083 is several years old..

Yeah, the other version I tried was 3.085

The one that's up on the website as a legacy version....
