Incorrect signal routing or selection of playback channels in your audio software. A simple matter of configuration, not a technical problem of the unit or driver. Software and hardware manual will help.

Whether or not this is normal is a question for your computer's manufacturer. Nothing to do with the BF at all. If it receives USB power continuously, it remains on. So will other USB devices.
