Topic: FF 800 noise and crackling on spdif inputs when clocked internally

As the topic says :

When i connect Motif ES or TC Helicon to fireface800 via optical or coaxial spdif cables there is random noise if clock source is set to internal (sample rate matched with outputs on external devices) on the fireface.
When fireface is clocked externally noise dissapears.
I suspect this is not intended behaviour?

Any comments or solutions welcomed.

No, this is expected behavior in any digital system. One device must be the master clock, all other devices must sync to the master clock.
