Topic: AIO's An. inputs noise floor. (192 kHz specific)
Hello, I'm Alex. I purchased RME HDSPe AIO about a week ago in Moscow. And this morning I was about to send you this question:
"Is it normal for a AIO's analogue inputs to have -43dBfs peak noise floor".
But than I scrambled my way through the "Headphones hiss nightmare" thread (well almost through). Somewhere along the way I read something about sample rate. So I decided to change AIO's sample rate from 192kHz to see if that would have some effect. And it did: with 48kHz the noise floor drops down to -100, -101dBfs peak and with 96kHz - -99dBfs peak.
So if anyone here has HDSPe AIO card, could you please set the sample rate to 192kHz and tell me what noise figures you're getting (in HDSPe mixer or in DIGIcheck). Much obliged.
And also, a question to RME folks: could this be some kind of drivers issue so I could hope it would get better someday. Frankly, 192kHz rate isn't that much important to me, it just bugs me a little.
Just in case - my system is: i7 920, Gigabyte x58-UD7 m/b, Corsair HX620W PSU and lots of other stuff.
Thank you.
Alex.
