Topic: Heat & FF800 --> adat problems

Hi,

Lately I've had severe problems with my adat2 bus. FF800 just looses adat 2 sync and the sync light seems to blink randomly like crazy. I just discovered that it might be caused by the fact that FF800 is pretty hot after few hours of recording. I turned it off and cooled it a bit and it seem to work but after 30 minutes it started again... Can you guys tell me are there other examples as well where the heating has caused problems with FF800 and do you have idea where to fix this issue.

Hi Simo,

FF800s do run warm. Try and keep airspace above and (if possible) below the unit. I had stability issues with my unit overheating; losing sync, problems with ADAT outputs etc. They all went away once I got some airflow around the unit.

Ok now the adat 2 bus broke for good. Adat light just blinks and I get terrible sound thru adat bus. Do you know is it possible to fix it or do I have to buy new one...?
