Topic: Logic 9 Error message. I can't seem to record.

I posted last night about a few different topics, but the biggest issue now is an error message I keep getting. I'm up to date on my drivers. I'm running OSX 10.6.8. The error message reads:

"Error while trying to synchronize Audio and MIDI.  Sample Rate 49995 recognized. Check conflict between Logic Pro and external device."

FYI, the sample rate listed seems to change. It previously said 50009 and 50005.

Last night, the RME moderator told me to "Set the clock source in the driver settings to internal and 44.100 Hz. Check the pitch settings below for 0%."  Clock was set to internal. 44.1 was chosen, but I don't understand what was meant by the "pitch settings."

Anyway, My guy at Sweetwater where I bought the RME device had no idea how to fix it. So I figured I'd give the RME community a chance to chime in.

Can anybody help me get up and running? I'm dead in the water here :-)

Much thanks!
