Topic: Unable to get MIDI out to RME800

Intel Mac Pro 2.4GHz quad
OSX 10.6.8
14 GRAM
Logic Pro 9.1.5
Fireface 2.93
Firmware 2.77

both the latter re-installed today.

Core audio enabled
Logic Audio prefs set to Fireface 800 ( so Logic does see it)
Fireface doesn't show up in my Logic Inspector as a Port;
On launch I am told FF interface not available.
No way can I get MIDI out, and I also use a MIDI test meter.

What have I missed?
