Topic: Babyface Sample/Bitrate

Hi,

Just got our new Babyface and trying to get that thing configured for our needs.

The question I have is:
Is the Babyface automatically recording at 24 bit, no matter what Sample Rate we choosed.

And with which Sample Rate do you think we will get the best compromise between hard drive use and quality?

Can't wait to start recording with that Interface wink

Re: Babyface Sample/Bitrate

It's not the Babyface that records, it is your audio software. The BF will always deliver a 24 bit signal, though.

The sample rate question is a philosophical one... It also depends on what you intend to do with the recorded audio (CD, DVD, etc.).

Re: Babyface Sample/Bitrate

Thanks Daniel.

However, one more issue popped up.

When we record through ourLine In L everything is just fine.
If we use the Hi Z Instrument Input which we choosed instead of Line In R we got popping noises in our recording.
Do you have any idea where that could come from?

Re: Babyface Sample/Bitrate

Not a known problem... What is connected to this input?

An Electric guitar, the same issue is when we try other instruments such as an E Bass
