Topic: UFX Octamic D optimal settings

How should I choose the settings of Octamic D output (analog) and  UFX input channels to get the lowest basic ground noise? I am  working with Neumann and MBHO condenser mics for classical recording. Recording goes via Netbook/ DigiCheck/UFX Total Mix /external USB :

- both units +4dBu
- Octamic High gain and UFX +4dBu
- Octamic -10 dBV, UFX +4dBu

Re: UFX Octamic D optimal settings

Both units +4 or Hi/Lo Gain. Don't use different settings (will cause errors sooner or later), and try to avoid -10. That said the difference in real-world is near zero, as the mic pre is the main noise source.
