Topic: XLR Breakout Cable w/9632.. preamps?

Please help me, I'm still a noob to recording.  Just got a Shure sm57 and an AT2035.  I plugged my sm57 in using the optional xlr breakout cable, to my HDSP9632 and miked my Marshall cab, but can barely hear my guitar when the recording is played back.  Do I need to buy a preamp, or is there something I'm missing?

Any help is greatly appreciated,

You will need a preamp indeed.
