Hi,

I'm seriously considering buying a Fireface UFX/UC in conjunction with a Steinberg MR816/Lynx Aurora plugged into the UFX/UC's ADAT ports.  I would like the RME-based system to run on a Mac running Logic 9.

As an intermediate step, and due to budget constraints,  I'd like to trying running the UFX on a Mac Mini Server 2011 (2.0GHz quad-core Intel Core i7, 4GB RAM, SSD Drive), running OS X Lion.

Are there any know UFX/UC compatibilty issues with this Mac Mini (i.e. Firewire/USB chipsets)?

Also, do you think this setup/system would be able to comfortably achieve a maximum/round-trip (real-world) latency of no more than 5-7 ms or lower (i.e. imperceptible) with soft-synths, samplers, plug-in etc.  I've read that Core Audio add extra latency, would it make a Mac Mini Server an unrealistic proposition?
