Topic: HDSPe expresscard and HDSPe madiface

I own a HDSPe expresscard connected to a multiface 2 with the latest driver update(2.77 and flash tool update to 18 rev.)
on Mac.
All is fine with this configuration but i'm wondering if I would connect a madi device to the HDSPe expresscard can that
handle the madi signal/format?

Then are the HDSPe expresscards the same as the HDSPe madiface?
I'm just talking about the cards.

Thanks in advance
Alessandro

Thanks Daniel
Then I need another card but I noticed that those cards are sold
with the breakout box included.
What to do if need just the express card?

Re: HDSPe expresscard and HDSPe madiface

You can not use the Madiface Expresscard without the external device...

Re: HDSPe expresscard and HDSPe madiface

From Mytek web page
http://www.mytekdigital.com/download_li … l_v1.4.pdf

PAGE 15
The breakout box can be bypassed by directly
connecting the Madiface to the MADI DIO card. The
connection is made with a standard 6 pin FireWire
cable, but the signal does not use the FireWire
protocol. To avoid the risk of damaging the card,
please do not connect a FireWire signal to the
Madiface port on the DIO card or on the Madiface
ExpressCard itself.
Daniel
Could you explain?

I will ask also Michael from mytek

Thanks

Re: HDSPe expresscard and HDSPe madiface

Sorry, this product is new to me... HeadScratch ed:
Should work then...

Nonetheless, the Expresscard for the Madiface is not sold separately...

Re: HDSPe expresscard and HDSPe madiface

The Mytek card is tested and fully supported. Like Daniel said you have to buy a complete MADIface to use it. The breakout box will come in handy sooner or later... ;-)
