Topic: USB Access interference/noise in speakers...
Hey, I am having an issue with my Fireface UFX giving me some kind of electronic sound faintly coming from my speakers and also being recorded in takes. I was hoping someone could help me out in any way, I would appreciate it greatly. This happens at 2 locations currently using 2 separate computers so I'll do my best to give you specs and specify my problem.
Computer 1. Custom build with ASUS motherboard Quad core i5 and fireface connected via Texas Instruments Firewire PCI Card
Computer 2. Custom Build ASUS motherboard Quad Core i7 connected via USB
I have disabled on board sound on both motherboards and also all system sounds, the drivers and firmware are up to date on both systems.
The noise I am getting is a high pitched feint sound of what sounds like the computer accessing data. It happens whenever the computer is busy doing anything such as moving the mouse, but is random and can happen at any point. When I eject the Fireface and unplug the USB the sound goes away, also when I plug the fireface into a different outlet the noise remains but gets slightly quieter. I feel like it has to be some kind of grounding issue or EMI but I cannot for the life of me figuring it out. The worst part of it all is that the noise gets recorded when doing takes.
This noise also occured with a friend of mines Fireface 800 so I don't believe it is a hardware problem. If anyone could help me I would extremely appreciate it thanks!
