Topic: UFX: Periodical white noise- SOLVED

I'm getting periodically white noise and I suspect it has something to do with sample rates and ASIO, however I've had the same settings before and it has always (except same issue one day a month ago) worked fine.

It's driving me nuts as I have an upcoming session tonight. Help!

From the manual:

Another common source of trouble is incorrect synchronization. ASIO does not support asynchronous operation, which means that the input and output signals not only have to use the same sample frequency, but also have to be in sync. All devices connected to the Fireface UFX
must be properly configured for Full Duplex operation. As long as SyncCheck (in the Settings dialog) only displays Lock instead of Sync, the devices have not been set up properly!

The same applies when using more than one Fireface UFX - they all have to be in sync. Else a periodically repeated noise will be heard.

I don't have any devices except the laptop connected to the UFX. Using USB.

This is extremely annoying and I can't seem to figure it out. The sample rate at the UFX is the same as in my DAW. Damnit.

Ok so it seems to have something to do with my plugins. As I turn them off this periodic white noise dissapears. I find this strange as this has never been the case before, but it sure isn't as annoying as it was. Still, any suggestions on how to solve this?

Can plugins magically change sample rate all by themselves or something?

Some plugins do periodically white noise when they are in demo mode. Check if maybe one has reverted to unregistered.

I was running a demo version of my plugins without knowing.

Oh and maybe do not delete this thread after all as some may run into the same problems suspecting it might have something to do with sample rate as the manual implicitly suggested.
